In addition to his private practice, Dr. Tom Douglas holds the rank of Colonel (Medical Corps) in the North Carolina Air National Guard. Dr. Douglas takes pride in interacting with and listening to his patients.

At Carolina Urology Center, Dr. Douglas's special interests include new minimally invasive technologies for the treatment of cancer, such as high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) for prostate cancer and laparoscopic kidney tumor cryoablation.  He also enjoys performing microsurgical vasectomy reversals.

Dr. Douglas earned his BS in Biology in 1985 from the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, VA.  After receiving his medical degree from the University of Virginia in 1989, Dr. Douglas completed his internship and residency at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC in 1997.  After serving on active duty in the US Army for over ten years, he moved to Charlotte.  He has practiced in Rock Hill since 1999 when he also became board certified by the American Board of Urology.  He completed his board recertification requirements in 2007.  He is also a member of the American Urological Association.

In addition to his responsibilities with the Air National Guard, Dr. Douglas enjoys spending time with his family.  He is a member of the Carmel Baptist Church in Matthews, NC.

Special Interests: High intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) for prostate cancer, laparoscopic kidney surgery, renal tumor cryoablation, endoscopic stone surgery, pediatric urology, bladder cancer, vasectomy and vasectomy reversals.
